The University of Valladolid is involved in a great number of mobility and exchange programmes, mainly with European and American universities, having achieved one of the highest rates of student and teaching staff mobility among Spanish universities. It has gained special recognition from Brussels for being the leading Spanish university in Teaching Staff Mobility action within the Erasmus Programme. More than 180 lecturers and 800 students from the University of Valladolid move to European universities each year to participate in this Programme. At the same time more than 850 European students study at Valladolid.

Of equal importance is the fact that the University of Valladolid, apart from those agreements signed under Erasmus, has also signed more than 190 bilateral agreements with a similar number of European, American, Asian and African universities, for the exchange of lecturers and students and for cooperation in joint research and training projects.
